My blogging experience

I like this experience of be a blogger in the english class, because here is a oportunity to know a little more about our classmates and to make progress in english writing skills. I think that fast everything we do with practice generate an improvement, like when we write every week a text in english for example, so I feel that my writing skills have increase from March to now. What would I like to include in the future? Well, I like the english classes in general and there are a lot of thinks that we can do, because one of the main objectives is to talk other languaje . S o, we can make discussions (like a "debate") about polemic topics, we can make an analysis of some songs lyric s in english, or see a good documentary, or see a th eater function, or even to make one in english . There are so many topics that I would like to write about, for example about literature, movies or personal experiencies in life, but my favourite topic is always when we have the chance ...

A photograph (its story)

Imagen
This photo was taken on September 14 th of 2016. In it, I´m with a group of People while I was making the “Santiago 1973” tour. It was taken into the “Espacio M” (in front of the University). In this place was the “El Mercurio” Newspaper from 1902 to 1985, and we view here part of the history of the Unidad Popular Period in Chile, and the roll of the media. It´s common that when some people who are just walking around there, see a guy with a group talking about this, they join the group for some minutes... and one of this people was that day Claudio Parra (71), pianist from “Los Jaivas”.   He was with his couple and they joined us and they started to take part of the conversation too, and when we recognize him, a tourist told me that he was on birthday that thay, so all started to sing the “happy birthday” and after that this picture was taked. Then we follow the tour and they follow their road, but then the tour became even stranger that day…so this p...

A career related website

www.accuradio.com This website was founded in 2000, as "IcebergRadio".In 2014 it change its name to "AccuRadio".  This is a multichannel, personalizable Internet radio station designed specifically for people with sophisticated musical tastes. I like this internet radio because it provides me a lot of information about music genres and subgenres, composers and instruments and new music tendences. Here you can find a lot of musical genres as brazilian, celtic, decades (since 50`s to 00`s) classical music, jazz, classic rock, movie soundtracks, reggae, soul and world music, for example.  AccuRadio's audience is almost equally divided between the 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, and 55-64 age groups. Every genre has subgenres too, so if you make a click on the jazz channel, you will find subgenres as the 1920`s & 30´s jazz, big band jazz, jazz fussion, by composers (charlie parker, thelonius monk, duke ellington, etc), groove jazz, gypsy jazz, by instruments (gu...

My special picture

Current musical proyect and future plans

Currently, I´m working in a Project that makes music of the thematics, places, characters and stages of the walking-tours that “Santiago Freak” (the cultural-tourism Organization where I work) makes. I have worked on it since last year, and it started like a joke when we play the instruments and improvise with other members of “Santiago Freak” around the thematics of the tours, on different musical genres. Then, we realised that it wasn´t a bad idea, and that we could do it seriously, so now some places and characters of the tours have their own musical themes. The idea is to record all the songs of every tour in a CD, and give it to the people in the tours or sell it like a souvenir, for example. It´s a collective project, because we need the group synergy to make it better than just a person. Our difficulties are that we don´t have so much time to do this, so it has been a very slow process, and we don´t have all the technological supports that we need. So, now I´m working in ...

My favorite piece of techonology...

My favorite piece of techonology is an i-pad (second version). I got it about four years ago, when I started to work in the Cultural-Tourism Agency "Santiago Freak". I use it for many things, like reading, to listening music or writing and answering e-mails. There are many apps that I can use for my studies too, for example to train the musical ear or to create, read and write music. I use it every day, so I charge it at night to have battery the whole day. It´s my work tool too: I use it when I make a Tour, to show different images, audios and videos of the city to the people. I like it because it´s very useful and portable. I think that without the ipad I wouldn´t die, but making a Tour without it, would be very strange, like drinking a beer without alcohol.

My expectations for this New Semester

This year is very special for me, because I started to study my second career. This term I have seven different subjects. Some of them are very fun, like Piano, Guitar or Musical creation and practice, because we have to play instruments. Another subject that I have this semester is History of Art, but there are too many people in the aula (about 300), so it´s a little boring sometimes. Off course that English lessons are very fun and useful for me too. My extracurricular activities have relation with my work in “Santiago Freak”. I do walking   freak-tours around the city. It`s very funny too, because I have the opportunity to know a lot of people from different places, and I enjoy to show and educate them about the urban history of our city and country. I`m very happy studying music, and I expect to learn to write and read music, so I know that I have to work very hard to get it!
